In the heart of Florence, Italy, there’s a place where locals and tourists alike can come together to enjoy a warm, welcoming atmosphere, a wide selection of quality beers, and the company of fellow beer enthusiasts. That place is the Joshua Tree, a pub with a rich history and a strong connection to the world of music.

Our journey began in the late 80s and early 90s, when we embarked on an Interrail trip across Europe. It was during this time that we first experienced the unique atmosphere of pubs in Ireland and England, a world that was virtually unknown in Italy at the time. The sense of camaraderie and relaxation we found in these pubs inspired us to bring a piece of that world back home.

In 1997, after years of working in the restaurant industry, we decided to take a risk and, along with two partners, opened the Joshua Tree. The name was inspired by our love for the Irish band U2, whose album “The Joshua Tree” had celebrated its 10th anniversary. We had previously traveled to Ireland to follow the band and had even created a fan club and fanzine dedicated to their music.

Over the years, the Joshua Tree has maintained its identity while evolving to meet the needs of its ever-changing clientele. Initially popular with university students, we eventually found our niche among international visitors. Our mission has always been to create an atmosphere where everyone feels at home and relaxed, whether they are taking a break from sightseeing, waiting for a train, or staying at a nearby hotel.

We pride ourselves on our ability to bring together locals and foreigners, creating a space where people can socialize and learn from one another. Our staff is trained monthly on new products and beers, ensuring that we always have the latest and greatest offerings for our customers.

Another key aspect of the Joshua Tree is our commitment to product quality and variety. We offer 20 taps of beer, including 10 rotating artisanal options from small Italian breweries. We carefully select these beers by attending festivals and visiting breweries, ensuring that we always have something unique and delicious for our patrons to enjoy.
